Reputation: BUNNY LAKE IS MISSING
Cloned from DNA evidence of missing child Bunny Lonsdale, Warren is the What-If of necromantic scientific pursuit when paired with unfettered access to the National Crime Agency's refrigerated evidence lockers. Developed in TEDISON LABS from a single ear, Warren understandably lacks any of the memories of Lonsdale, and has instead been supplied with patchwork memories/available scraps from various "donors," mostly pieces from the population of the town he disappeared from, most notably & prominently (about 62% of his mind's makeup) the former Chief Constable Ariel Warren, who famously disappointed the Bunny Lonsdale case. Following his failure to find Lonsdale, Warren retired from the Constabulary and went into civil servitude with the Serious Fraud Office & later the Office for National Statistics.
A. Area of potential: KISS THE BLOOD OFF MY HANDS
All the true crime comics, all the inch-thick disaster biographies, all the coffee-table encyclopedias on the Titanic or the anthologies of the worst car crashes in history, all the classic horror movies, and all the Shakespearean tragedies have been checked out of your local TEDISON library for weeks. Bunny Warren has an ongoing interest. Curious, incorrigible, Bunny latches quickly & intensely to all manner of odd subject & trivia. Easily consumed, he's an eager student and acute "fan" of whatever it is he's getting into at the time. He has a sharp eye for the innocently morbid too: dead celebrities, massive disasters, unusual deaths, enduring local mysteries--that sort of thing. He's particularly dedicated when he's got his sights set on some curiosity or puzzle, and paired with his attention to pretty lame levels of detail, he can be a killer partner to have on your Trivial Pursuit team.
B. Area of potential: THE POSTMAN ALWAYS RINGS TWICE
What do you mean, "dull?" Listen, guys, the world is saved by regulation; the truth doesn't out without Barton Keyes; the riddles and the answers to riddles are all in the paperwork, and Bunny Warren knows how to make those pages sing. Organized, methodical, sharp, & strategic, Bunny is a Bureaucratic Dreamboat(TM) and he loves to work, to file, to staple, to have you initial here, here, & here. Bolstered by fuzzy memory donations of (Former Chief) Ariel Warren humming through the administrative portions of policework (Cumbria Constabulary), singing while filing investigation packets (Serious Fraud Office), or shining his light upon immaculately-prepared annual charts (Office of National Statistics), Bunny is an amalgamation of a man with a fiercely optimistic work ethic and a keen and trained eye for detail & discrepancy. He knows when two things don't add up just by looking at it, and given the choice he'd prefer to solve the case by reviewing the red tape, please & thank you.
C. Area of potential: NIGHT HAS A THOUSAND EYES
Two, three, four, or even *five(+)* different memory donations for the price of just one clone body! Talk about efficient! Bunny's model was treated like the receptacle for an intern's brainscan scrap pile. He's populated with dozens of little halves and quarters of fuzzy episodes or disassociated feelings, wants, or fears half-floating in the ether--sometimes there, sometimes not. Fun! Right? Actually, Bunny feels very detached from all this media, like it's just him spying through a keyhole at moments in other people's worlds. His primary donor is the Former Chief Constable Ariel Warren, who was in charge of the local police force during Bunny's disappearance as a child. Watching most of life over A. Warren's shoulder, seeing his own disappearance through the detective's eyes... it's very *weird.* But Bunny regards it mostly softly, even intimately. If nothing else, Bunny's guardianship over his mnemonic scrap pile lends him a certain empathy & compassion not usually found in cops *or* bureaucrats.
D. Known Risk Factor: ALL THE KING'S MEN
Do you know how to milk a cow? Have you ever plucked a chicken yourself? Do you think reading books is "suspicious?" Bunny hates you, and Bunny is definitely stereotyping you if he sees even a little bit of "small town" in your soul. He himself is from a small town, and while his buddy and chief-consciousness-donor Ariel seemed to dig the quiet rural life, Bunny can't even begin to stand the idea of it. He's got exactly three memories of birthing cows tucked away and it makes him sick just to think about it. More than that though, Bunny doesn't like the idea that simplicity is necessarily wisdom. For Bunny, study & intense attention is wisdom, and a slow, quiet, provincial world doesn't breed that. It breeds (he believes) ignorance and slobs. What we're saying is: he's a little bit snobby and hates his country roots.
E. Known Risk Factor: I WAKE UP SCREAMING
We all have our weaknesses. Some people can't resist a good donut, others need a red pen. Bunny likes both those things, but has a particular & more destructive soft spot--what professionals know as "sucker's folly"--for damsels in distress. Scream, and he'll come running. Cry, and he'll carry you. Bunny's helplessly drawn to the helpless. He carries an inextinguishable torch for any & all vulnerable: women, children, the elderly, minorities, the meek, the weak, the soft, the shunned... Call it camaraderie; he wants to hold the victim. This is dangerous & potentially destructive from Bunny Warren though. His insistence on helping is sweet but sometimes intrusive. He's been known to be a Romantic too, one who believes in the beautifully sublime. He can forget himself in pursuit of rescue, and is capable of misinterpreting, idealizing, and even objectifying people--not unlike Waldo Lydecker or Mark McPherson towards their Laura Hunt.
F. Known Risk Factor: NIGHT MOVES
Bunny plays chess and is very attached to this stupid idea that proficiency at the game is necessarily equal to intelligence. Trust us, it's not. But Bunny likes this idea and other ideas like it. He enjoys a clean world with clear-cut correlations and easy cause & effect. In Bunny's ideal [REDACTED], everything would be translatable and quantifiable. If something can't be read on (too much) paperwork, it's not worth reading at all! If something can't be solved, why does it even exist? Ambiguity frustrates him to no end, and in his relentless pursuit for any and all answers? Tough luck, Bunny. It's something you're going to be running into *a lot.*
*Other: Listen, he likes the old noir detective aesthetic too, but smoking is very bad for him so you're gonna have to make due with him taking long, cool drags of his asthma inhaler // Speaks with a Lancashire Dialect, but don't be surprised to hear an off-pronunciation or funny phrase here-or-there--that's probably just his other memory patches coming into play // Has a terribly cheesy & lame sense-of-humor, but he thinks his one-liners and comebacks are really good! He doesn't understand why people keep asking him to stop. // Why do we need so many colors & designs anyway? Can't everything just be neutral-colored and striped? Or better yet: solid, no gradient? // OOOMMMMGGGGG can peasants & hillbillies just *go away* already? // "Big stone-thrower in a palace of glass." - Bork // What do you mean "boring?" Rules are fun!!!

Bunny Warren's Missing
<<Category: Parent(s) & Resurrected Son>>
>>Relevant Feelings: Horror, Grief, Disgust, Joy, Confusion, ETC.
>>Relevant Tropes: Uncertain Doom, Clones Are People Too, Big Damn Reunion
<<The Pitch(es)>> Meet Bunny Warren! A mish-mash of a man: filled with memory scraps from various sources and cloned from the DNA evidence of a child that went missing in 2007. Do you know where this is heading?
Your character is one of Bunny’s parents. Which means your character endured his disappearance, his absence, the fact that they only ever found a single ear from him, the fact that they never found him, the fact that they have no idea what happened, and that they’re unlikely to ever know what happened to Bunny. That’s more abject grief than anybody should have to go through, but try this on for size too: now they’re in [REDACTED] and MAD SCIENTISTS have used that ear to clone their missing son. They’ve taken this ghoulish clone and, for lack of any brain scans or memories to upload, they’ve filled him with bits and pieces from other people’s lives, including (most prominently) the chief constable who was in charge of finding Bunny. Who, ahem, didn’t find him.
Is this even your son anymore? I mean, he’s 34 and just patchwork. He’s like Frankenstein, right?
Your character is totally yours to play with, head to toe. There are only a few stipulations:
Other than that? Go for it. Are they disgusted? Are they overjoyed? Are they disappointed? Are they conflicted? Did they request the cloning? How do they feel about the policeman who couldn’t find their son being 62% of his mind? How do they feel about the kind of person Bunny is now? Do they stay away? Do they run towards? How old are they? How old was Bunny? How do they feel about [REDACTED]? Shit, you get the point, right?
- Bunny went missing in 2007 from a small farming town in Cumbria, England. >>Note! The family may not have been native? I mean, check the demographics. They could have moved there, or been on vacation...?
- Bunny was under 10 years old when he disappeared.
- They only recovered an ear and nobody knows what happened to him.
- Bunny (Original Bunny) had the last name Lonsdale, but I could change that.
- FC is up to you but these are his biological parents and he’s played by Edi Gathegi.
Like I said at the beginning, this is a dark concept. It does need to be treated with a modicum of respect for the subject and probably a lot of threads will be tagged with CW if you choose to have your character confront this horror head-on. That said, I’m a much campier, lighter, more tropey player than this ad might have you believe. Please feel free to browse Bunny’s work as well as the work of my other characters to get a better sense of how I operate. I’m super approachable so please don’t hesitate to reach out to me! Feel free to ask me any questions but, seriously: this is your character now. And I believe in you! Go for it!

Our characters always end up locked in small spaces together and I love it
!! I brainstormed a list of small spaces and most
of them don't work for TEDISON (elevator, boat, bank vault, coffin, freezer, underground bunker, basement or attic, hotel, quarantine (used by Kilmore & Marco in Medical), laboratory, Ferris Wheel, maze, dog kennel (used by Marco & Bud in the Pet Store), closet (used by Avi & Juno in Medical), etc. LOL so obvs some of those don't work but I like the sound of a couple! I like elevator because classic
, it something that they could easily both enter w/o much author manipulation, and there's a bunch of gruesome stories about elevators for Bunny to chew on. I also like freezer bc I imagine the canteen might have one, it's been hot out lately
per the August update and maybe our heroine is just standing in the doorway to cool off--we'd have to finagle getting them caught (could Bunny be waiting around the back for an order--he doesn't usually go in the canteen he picks them up just outside--& accidental hijinks??) but once there... then there's a bunch of gruesome stories about freezers for Bunny to chew on.
I also think laboratory could be cool & sciency if we could swing it but I'm not sure how to. What do you think???
